Job Summary

The part-time lecturer will teach 1-2 courses per semester. The majority of courses taught will be at the undergraduate level, but a graduate course may be included. Appointments carry no guarantee or expectation of renewal or tenure.

Minimum Education and Experience

An earned graduate degree appropriate to the academic discipline/topic and a record of productivity and professional achievement.

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Earned doctoral degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a closely related field with at least two years of teaching experience at the college or university level. Experience as a teaching assistant is included.
  • Experience teaching biomedical engineering, biology, chemistry, or engineering is preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare and teach undergraduate and/or graduate lectures and/or undergraduate labs using existing course materials as a guide and template
  • Compile and submit assessment data per departmental procedures;
  • Participate in course and instructor evaluations
  • May work with one or more TA's
  • Collaborate with other faculty in the department on course materials and instruction
  • Other duties as assigned
