Project Manager
The Town of Nantucket is hiring a Project Manager.
The Project Manager plays a vital role in helping the Town of Nantucket deliver its strategic goals. Duties include planning, executing and supervising projects to meet strategic objectives and to ensure project delivery within budget and on time.
The Project Manager oversees schedules, budgets, resources, and deliverables for multiple municipal projects. The Project Manager monitors projects and associated internal and external teams to ensure goals and objectives are being met. The Project Manager will leverage project management best practices and provide reporting to key stakeholders, including Town Manager and Select Board. Understands larger Town-wide strategic needs while tracking individual project health, staying alert for risk and resolving issues as they arise.
The Project Manager also provides regular status reports to the Manager of Strategic Projects and others as assigned, and acts as a liaison to the Capital Program Committee.
Recommended Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in project management, engineering, architecture, construction management, business or public administration, environmental management or a related field required; 3+ years’ experience using a formal approach and methodology for project management, ideally in a municipal setting; Best practices in municipal construction projects for public facilities and major and ongoing capital improvement construction projects helpful.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: The employee must have a valid Driver’s License; PMP certification required or obtained within 6 months of hire; Familiarity with Massachusetts procurement processes desired; Massachusetts Certified Public Procurement Officer (MCPPO) designation preferred but not required; PMO experience preferred; Massachusetts Owner’s Project Manager (OPM) certification or experience desirable but not required; Experience with capital plan management. Proficiency with project management software and applications desired.

This position is eligible for remote work with Town approval. Starting Salary $100,000. Compensation commensurate with experience and subject to negotiation.
