Major/Essential Functions
  • Teaching endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism to endocrinology fellows, internal medicine residents, physician assistants and medical students rotating through Division of Endocrinology.
  • Providing lectures and teaching sessions to fellows, residents and medical students in the specialties of endocrinology, diabetes, and obesity medicine.
  • Responsible for inpatient consults and outpatient medical care. This includes examination of patients, ordering x-rays and laboratory tests to help make an accurate diagnosis, and planning and execution of treatment.
  • Establish a medical practice of endocrinology, diabetes and obesity medicine.
  • Adhere to institutional and departmental policies and procedure.

Required Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited school of medicine with an M.D. or D.O. degree.
  • License to practice medicine in the State of Texas or eligible for Texas medical licensure.
  • Have or be eligible for certificate(s) for prescribing controlled substances.
  • Three years post-graduate training in primary care medicine and subspecialty training in endocrinology and in obesity medicine from accredited ACGME training programs.
  • Board certified or eligible for certification in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism, we well as, obesity medicine.
