DIGITAL MARKETING STRATEGIST

The Office of Communication and Marketing at St. Ambrose University is seeking a Digital Marketing Strategist to join our team developing and implementing digital marketing and content strategy and tactics for the St. Ambrose University. This position manages, creates, and maintains top-level institutional website pages to support university goals. It acts as primary liaison for website content contributors, leads training on use of content management system (CMS) and effective web/digital marketing communication practices. Key expectations of this position are:

Lead in digital marketing enablement by creating, identifying, and delivering the right content appropriate to the right audience at the right time. Strategically promote content across digital channels of communication in an integrated manner.

Leverage data insights and analytic tools to develop and dynamically optimize content in service of marketing communication goals and objectives. Have a clear understanding of marketing communication metrics for use in continual optimization of content.

Serve as primary author for assigned marketing communications content with a digital-first focus. Writing clear marketing copy to promote the university and its products and services. Structure content for delivery across multiple digital and print channels.

Conduct thorough research on education-related topics, generating ideas for new content types and proofreading content prior to publishing.

Create and maintain top-level institutional website pages and websites as needed for emerging projects and services to support university goals. Create and maintain an editorial calendar to publish content that supports the university's efforts and timetables, such as recruitment cycle, campus annual events and special events.

Collaborate with Webmaster on website design to ensure function, usability, and best navigational strategies are maintained. Provide leadership and expertise on usabilitty and accessibility issues. Perform other routine site maintenance tasks to enhance functionality and effectiveness as needed.

Serve as a primary content producer and editor of assigned sections of the university website.

Manage digital newsletters and mass email processes. Develop HTML code as needed and maintain integrity of template for mass mail distribution systems and report on effectiveness of campaigns. 

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or five years' experience in area of responsibility or related area. Preferred candidates will have a Communication, Marketing, or a related Bachelor's or equivalent professional experience with an emphasis in digital / web marketing, marketing enablement, and UX/UI information architecture. Experience in marketing technologies and data integration, preferably in higher education. Experience leveraging data insights for digital strategy optimization.
