GENERAL DESCRIPTION


The Recreation Facilities attendant is responsible for ensuring facilities, equipment, materials, and supplies are prepared and available for recreation programs and events. The attendant will also provide support in setting up facilities according to program and event requirements. The role involves maintaining accurate records, assisting in supervising recreation activities, and overseeing program participants. The Recreation Facilities Attendant plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the facilities and grounds.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Set ups facilities according to program/event requirements.
  • Responsible for ensuring that facility rules are followed by patrons, demonstrating tactful and effective enforcement of regulations.
  • Maintains accurate records involving recreation activities
  • Provides information to recreation department staff
  • Provide information to recreation department staff.
  • Assist in supervising recreation activities and facilities.
  • Assist with the supervision of program participants.
  • Remove trash from all containers and exterior facilities.
  • Request cleaning supplies and equipment as required.
  • Perform a variety of routine cleaning tasks.
  • Assist with the maintenance of exterior grounds.
While working at Splash Valley:
  • Uphold standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout Splash Valley facilities to ensure a pleasant environment for all patrons.
  • Actively monitor and ensure the safety of patrons while they enjoy the slides, adhering to established safety protocols and procedures.
  • Enforce Park rules and regulations on slides and within the park premises to maintain order and promote a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests.
  • Interact with patrons as needed, providing assistance, guidance, and information to enhance their experience at Splash Valley.
  • Maintain open communication with head lifeguards and pool managers, promptly reporting any issues, concerns, or incidents for swift resolution and proactive management.

REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES


Education

Preferred:: Graduation from high school or equivalent .

Experience

Required: Some experience working with diverse groups and individuals in organized activities.
Preferred: Experience providing or supporting community recreational activities.

Certifications/ Licenses

Preferred: CPR and First Aid certificate.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Some knowledge of standard office terminology, procedures, equipment, and clerical techniques.
  • Some knowledge of recreation programs and activities.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with support staff, coworkers, activity participants and general public
  • Ability to collect fees and keep records.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Skill in the operation of a personal computer and familiarity with Microsoft programs.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, subject to change which may include day, evening, and weekend work.
  • Ability to perform set up of facilities and equipment as required by various recreational activities.
  • Ability to enforce facility rules tactfully and effectively.
Additional Requirements
May be required to use personal vehicle at times (with mileage reimbursement provided). Subject to a complete criminal history background search with acceptable results. Following a conditional offer of employment, must pass a post offer physical examination.
Must also be able to perform the job as described in the Physical and Environmental Demands section of this job description.
