The Assistant Director of Admissions Processing, under direction, assists the director with initiatives and objectives. Manages the overall articulation processing cycle to align with academic terms and strategically prioritize the needs of the enrollment funnel through targeted articulation processing. Performs moderately complex managerial work providing direction and guidance in operations and planning. The position supports the Director in managing the daily operation of the Office of Admission. This position supervises all admission counselors. It oversees customer service strategies to provide a superb customer experience. The position is the liaison to athletics for transfer evaluations for incoming athletes. The position is also responsible for assisting the enrollment team in developing and implementing data-driven plans and initiatives to recruit a diverse student population.
Reporting to the Director of Admission Processing, the Assistant Director of Admissions Processing will be responsible for closely collaborating with the Director to provide supervision, training, and coaching, including all aspects of student admissions for undergraduate students from inquiry to application. Other areas of responsibility include training, coaching, quality assurance, performance management, and business process design and implementation.
Responsibilities:
- Develops, communicates, and executes operational strategies to set and achieve team and unit goals on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis to ensure new student application growth targets are met. Manages daily operations by tracking workforce metrics such as document processing, call volumes, phone queues, and service levels. Provides input and feedback on both strategic and operational projects and their impact on day-to-day operations. Supports all work of the Office of Admissions Processing as needed.
- Manage the overall articulation processing cycle to align with academic terms and strategically prioritize the needs of the enrollment funnel through targeted articulation processing. Efficiently manage the articulation demand of all new incoming students and currently enrolled student population through strategic articulation reporting analysis of all student types. Liaise with faculty and departmental staff for assistance with any new out-of-state and upper-level equivalencies. Partner with faculty and academic affairs for any articulation petitions that do not align with university catalog policy. Manage the pre-approved transfer credit process to include PATC forms submitted that are against university catalog policy. Audit all articulation reporting for quality control checks while ensuring data integrity from admissions applications.
- Supervises and trains employees and student workers.
- Builds strong relationships with high school counselors and prospective students. Assists with the development and implementation of communication flow to parents and prospective students. Works with University staff across units to analyze and resolve issues affecting applicants.
- Documents, evaluates, and makes recommendations for improvements to business processes. Plans, implements, coordinates, monitors, and evaluates policies and procedures and monitors compliance with policies and procedures. Assists with establishing goals and objectives. Tracks/extracts data and develop reports. Serves as the liaison to athletics for transfer athlete evaluations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Six years of related experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
- Knowledge of College fair programs.
- Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Knowledge of College Fair programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Broad Knowledge of admissions, recruitment, and enrollment functions.
- Ability to work well with students, parents, faculty, alumni, school counselors, community-based organization staff in a professional manner and in a variety of formats.
- Ability to demonstrate high level of initiative and motivation and strong technological skills.
- Knowledge of transfer articulation practices, policies and procedures
