Director of Dermatopathology

The NYU Grossman School of Medicine's Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology seeks to identify a Director of Dermatopathology. The Director is responsible for leading a busy academic unit composed of multiple faculty members and staff and whose activities include technical specimen processing, diagnostic sign-out, consultations, conferences, education, and collaborative clinical and translational research. Candidates must be board certified in Dermatopathology as well as Dermatology or Anatomic Pathology and should have achieved the rank of Professor at an academic institution. Prior administrative experience is preferred.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead a renowned unit in a Department with an international reputation for teaching, research and state of art patient care in one of the nation's foremost academic medical centers. The Ronald O. Perelman Department of Dermatology has upheld a tradition of leadership and excellence that spans the history of dermatology in the United States. We provide dermatologic care across the NYU Langone Health network, at NY Health & Hospital's Bellevue Hospital Center and at the Department of Veterans Affairs NY Harbor Health System-Manhattan Campus. Our education program provides dermatologic instruction for students of NYU Grossman School of Medicine, specialty training for residents and fellows and advanced training for experienced physicians through the NYU Department of Continuing Medical Education. The Department is also a center for collaborative research addressing significant dermatologic problems.

Candidates must be board certified in Dermatopathology by the American Boards of Dermatology and Pathology, as well as board certified in either Dermatology or Anatomic Pathology and hold a New York State medical license at the time of proposed employment. Candidates should have achieved the rank of Professor at an academic institution. Prior administrative experience is preferred.

Compensation and appointment level will be commensurate with experience.

Base Salary: $300,000-$450,000
