Executive Director
The Napa Parks & Recreation Foundation (NPRF) is conducting a search for a part-time Executive Director as an exciting next step for our non-profit organization.
Are you passionate about community service and parks and recreation? Do you have proven fundraising experience and the ability to engage and motivate community stakeholders? Are you a creative, innovative thinker who can strategically implement the goals of an organization?
The Napa Parks & Recreation Foundation aims to inspire a healthier, more connected community by advocating and funding opportunities that promote lifelong learning, exploration, and play in our city. Since its creation in 1988, NPRF has worked tirelessly to advocate and fundraise for local programs, youth scholarships, park enhancements, and facilities that would otherwise go unfunded. NPRF partners closely with the City of Napa to build a world-class parks and recreation system that ensures all residents have equal access to parks, programs, and facilities.
In this new role, the Executive Director will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for NPRF’s personnel, programs, and the execution of its mission. In coordination with the Board of Directors, this position is responsible for increasing the visibility of the foundation, growing and diversifying the funding base, expanding partnerships within the community, and developing a strong and dynamic organization. The Executive Director will report directly to a small, but highly engaged Board of Directors and will closely partner with the City of Napa’s Parks and Recreation Department.
Our ideal candidate:
- Successful experience coordinating fundraising and/or volunteer programs
- Knowledge of board governance, the principles and practices of managing nonprofit organizations, resource development activities, budget planning, and fiscal management
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and organize, direct, plan, and coordinate projects
- Leadership skills, including negotiation, problem-solving, decision-making, and delegation
- Strong public speaking and communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the Board of Directors, community groups, partner agencies, and other related agencies
If this role sounds like a good fit for your skills, experience and interests, we invite you to apply!
