Job Description
  • Supervises the operational activities of the Missouri S&T- Vivarium, including budgeting/purchasing responsibilities, and ensures laboratory animals are humanely cared for using best practices
  • Ensures compliance with applicable regulations, guides, practices, and policies
  • Supports the growth and success of CBR members using laboratory animals through training, experimental design, and interpretation of results.
  • Supports the VA-mTBI vivarium with husbandry, relocation of animals, and anesthesia and euthanasia whenever necessary.
  • Support research initiatives, especially preparation and monitoring of laboratory animals.
  • Correspondence with CBR members, researching answers to questions, answering IACUC inquiries, and updating animal program paperwork/forms.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's or Master's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevantexperience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Biology or closely related field
  • Three years professional experience with direct laboratory animal contact
Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $58,960 to $80,881 annually.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
