Business Development & Marketing Specialist
McKool Smith, one of the nation's leading trial firms, is seeking a Business Development & Marketing Specialist to support the firm's litigation practices. Based in New York, the primary responsibility of this position is to support business development and marketing initiatives nationwide, in collaboration with department team members and support services. The Specialist will work with lawyers and professional staff at all levels and report to the Director of Marketing Services.
The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and possess strong writing skills to develop compelling pitch materials. This position also requires high energy and stellar customer service skills. Salary negotiable.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborates closely with the firm's lawyers to provide support for business development opportunities, including drafting pitch materials, assisting with responses to RFPs, developing PowerPoint presentations, developing/maintaining marketing materials, tracking/reporting pitch activities, and other client development-related matters.
- Gathers competitive intelligence in support of new business opportunities, client meetings, proposals, events, and other business development initiatives.
- Collaborates with marketing team members to support preparation of directory and award submissions and survey responses for various legal and business directories and publication
- Supports planning and execution of seminar/event/webinar activities nationally.
- Assists marketing team members in drafting internal and external communications.
- Collaborates with marketing, HR, and finance professionals as needed on marketing and business development-related projects.
- Bachelor's degree ideal along with 4+ years of relevant experience creating and preparing marketing collateral; drafting and supporting pitches, proposals, and presentations.
- Law firm experience is preferred.
- Excellent writing and proofreading skills.
- Ability to prioritize and balance competing demands and meet deadlines in a fast-paced professional environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with a wide range of individuals with differing opinions and diverse personalities.
- Superior Microsoft Office skills are required; Familiarity using a CRM and others software systems preferred.
