The center's current scope of work includes behavioral health, child health & wellbeing, community health systems development, health & health care financing, health in all policies, health systems transformation, longterm services & support, population & global health, and rural health. The center conducts, analyzes, and disseminates qualitative and quantitative research to connect decisionmakers with the objective research and guidance needed to make informed decisions about health policy and programs. The center is at work locally, nationally, and internationally with public and private partners to improve health and wellbeing.
ABOUT THIS POSITION
The APD will work directly with the associate project director of a statewide health equity initiative to provide team leadership and stewardship of program resources and achievement of assigned goals and objectives. The APD will lead the design, implementation, and dissemination of practices for the health opportunity pilot program. In this capacity, the APD will collaborate with diverse leaders to articulate the vision and strategic plan for a comprehensive community led approach that engages participants throughout the state of Georgia. The APD will facilitate a team of staff and partners through the practices of mentorship, project implementation, and scholarship in service to the health opportunity pilot.
HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Engages community leaders throughout Georgia to lead the comprehensive health opportunity pilot program
- Conducts a landscape scan of health equity infrastructure
- Collaborates with the associate project director to hire and engage a highperforming team to conduct the health opportunity pilot program
- Mentors internal staff and provides supervision, career development, and support within or outside of the project or competency area (direct reports and/or project teams)
- Builds new and maintains existing relationships with external clients and stakeholders by developing strategic relationship goals and objectives
- Facilitates meetings including the development of meeting goals and objectives, meeting announcements and materials, and reports meeting results
- Identifies community pilot sites using a process grounded in procedural justice principles, including neutrality, trustworthiness, voice, and respect
- Provides financial and technical resources to support community solutions and assist participating communities with practices that leverage additional financing mechanisms for sustainable community programming
- Facilitates process and outcome learning across the health opportunity pilot sites and learning from similar programs across the country
- Writes project reports, briefing papers, policy white papers, presentations, and peerreviewed research articles

QUALIFICATIONS YOU NEED
Master's degree and five years' experience or a bachelor's degree and seven years' experience. At least five years of experience in project management is required with a comprehensive understanding of the social determinants of health, racial and health equity. Experience collaborating with diverse partner groups, and strong writing and communication skills are important.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
It is expected that the candidate will have at least five years of experience in project management. The ideal candidate should have significant evaluation and/or technical assistance expertise and experience managing projects and teams where health systems change is a focus.
