The Marketing Operations department is the growth engine that drives results and sets the rhythm for the marketing organization. We are looking for a well-rounded and passionate creative to join our award-winning in-house Creative Team. As a key creative contributor, the Growth Art Director will work closely with Creative Directors, Designers, Copywriters and creative partners to develop growth marketing campaigns and collateral that effectively and distinctively promote USA TODAY Network brands and product offerings to our various audiences.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Concept, direct and inspire creative work with internal creative teams that is effective and distinctive, while elevating on-brand, consistent high-quality standards
• Provide clear, insightful, and objective critiques of work connecting back to creative brief and strategic solutions
• Display an experienced and cohesive understanding of the principles that make innovative and successful communications and design
• Contribute to a creative team culture of curiosity and innovation, by staying abreast of evolving best practices to inspire creative thinking and evolution
• Partner and develop relationships with cross-functional peer Creative, Marketing, and other internal teams
• Successfully communicate, present and pitch creative ideas and the strategic rationale behind them
• Defines creative project priorities and plans. Delegates creative tasks and oversees project progress.
• Manage time and juggle leadership on multiple projects while staying self-motivated and well organized
• Collaborates across internal departments to cultivate creative solutions and build partner relationships
Qualifications
• 7-10 years of creative design experience in an advertising/marketing experience role; agency experience a strong plus
• Experience leading designers and critiquing creative with the intent to push creative boundaries while always prioritizing brand standards, quality, and voice
• Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Communication Design, Advertising Design, or equivalent
• Full knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite; Figma a plus
• Experience collaborating and leading copywriting
• Impeccable attention to detail, ability to multitask and elevate visual standards is a must
• Embodies flexible and resourceful attitude
• Experience in Direct-to-Consumer Marketing and Direct Response Marketing a plus
• Exceptional portfolio showcasing work in multi-channel campaigns (i.e. digital, email, social media, print). Motion graphics and/or video experience a strong advantage. All candidates must include a portfolio to be considered.

The annualized base salary for this role will range between $68,400 and $161,000. Variable compensation is not reflected in these figures and based on the role, may be applicable.
Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, location, and union representation, if applicable.
