Position Summary

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement - Special Events, the Coordinator of Alumni Engagement will be a key contributor within the Alumni Engagement team. Specifically, they will be responsible for various initiatives that foster loyalty, connection and support from alumni and students. A focus of this work will be working with campus partners and alumni leaders to strategically build engagement among the senior class and alumni and enhance Greek Life reunion programs. The coordinator will assist the Assistant Director in the planning and coordination of on-campus senior class, alumni, and Greek Life reunion events, including, but not limited to, Homecoming and Reunion Weekend, Elon Day, Senior Pit Stops, Distinguished Alumni Awards, Top 10 Under 10 awards and Senior Week.

    Minimum Required Education and Experience

    Bachelor's degree required.

    Preferred Education and Experience

    Event management experience is preferred, one of more years of professional experience is preferred (includes internships), Elon alumni are encouraged.

    Job Duties
    • 70% - Event Planning Ensure successful implementation of affinity reunion events at Homecoming and Reunion Weekend by working with alumni volunteers to plan Greek Life reunion events. Support affinity reunion efforts by identifying, recruiting, managing, and on-boarding volunteers. Plan and execute Senior Class events including monthly Senior Pit Stops, Senior Class Kick-Off, and Senior Sunset. Work with the Annual Giving and Advancement Communications teams to develop and implement event communications plans. Manage external vendor and internal campus partner relationships during event planning process and serve as liaison on event days. Assist in the production of event marketing materials and communications for all events within position's responsibility as well as manage timelines and deadlines in coordination with University Communications. Serve as event lead for all affinity reunion events during Homecoming and Reunion Weekend as well as specific student-focused events, i.e. Senior Kick-Off, Senior Pit Stops, Elon Day and Senior Week. - (Essential)
    • 20% - Advancement and University Support Support Advancement events and projects (Family Weekend, Women of Elon Weekend, end of calendar year and end of fiscal year solicitations, etc.). Support University events and projects (Move In, Commencement ceremonies, etc.). Travel to and help execute 1-3 regional Alumni Engagement and Advancement events per year. - (Essential)
    • 10% - Operations Update Alumni Calendar weekly with upcoming events. Gather event materials to share with University Archives after the completion of each hosted event. Other duties as assigned. - (Essential)
