Job Summary/Basic Functions
The Eastern Kentucky University's Department of Social Work is seeking applications for an open rank tenure-track faculty member who will be primarily assigned to our BSW program. This is a 9-month, full-time position with the possibility to teach additional courses in the summer by contract. The position begins in August 2024.
We seek a faculty member who will be able to teach across the undergraduate curriculum with interest and experience in field coordination. The candidate selected will teach and engage in ongoing scholarship and service to the profession and community consistent with university expectations for tenure-track faculty. This includes an 80% (4x4) teaching responsibility per semester.
This position will be based in Richmond, KY, with the expectation of teaching face to face classes. There is the potential for assisting with field coordination, online teaching in our BSW and MSW programs as well and may include providing MSW supervision.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: MSW degree from a CSWE accredited program
Experience: 2 years post-MSW practice experience
2 years Instructional experience in higher education
Licensure & Certifications:
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctoral degree (or ABD with degree by start date) in social work
5+ years post-MSW practice experience
Experience coordinating field
Experience teaching across the curriculum but particularly in the micro, mezzo and macro practice areas
Experience in online education using an LMS (i.e., blackboard, canvas, D2L)
Evidence of scholarly productivity and/or grant funding
