CDL TRUCK DRIVING TRAINERS

Full and Part Time Openings

Blong Technology Center, Davenport, IA

 

Eastern Iowa Community Colleges has openings for both full and part time CDL Truck Driving Trainers to be based out of the Blong Technology Center in Davenport, IA.  Responsible for teaching courses and assessing learning outcomes in the assigned discipline of the Truck Driving Program.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • CDL license and a certified medical card are required.
  • 2 years industry experience in the trucking industry.
  • Computer skills are required.
  • Familiarity of DOT log procedures and CDL industry regulations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Teaching / training experience preferred, but not required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools and job-specific tools
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds to a height of three feet
  • Perform all normal and expected duties of a skilled trade.
  • Lifting, kneeling, squatting, climbing, crawling, stooping, turning/twisting, balancing, reaching, and handling with varying frequencies.
  • Frequent lifting and carrying, pushing, or pulling objects.

SALARY:

Full Time: $51,000 - $66,500 Annually. Starting Salary Commensurate with Experience.

Part Time: $30-$32 per hour

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Instruct courses in accordance with outcomes identified in established course outcomes. Teaching assignments may include varying delivery formats and methods.
  • Assure that student outcomes are achieved in each course.
  • Evaluate and record student performance and achievement on a regular basis and provide regular student feedback.
  • Coordinate student training and meets with students as necessary.
  • Refer students to Academic Support and Student Services as needed and meet recommended student / instructional accommodations as required.
  • Assist college in the recruitment and retention of students.
  • Maintain professionalism in an instructional environment.
  • Maintain a safe environment for students and EICC staff.
  • Using email and computer technology.
