Position Purpose
Actively and effectively coordinate, gather and communicate information, goals, initiatives and messages within the Campus Services division to internal stakeholders. Promote a positive image for Campus Services using a variety of communication channels.
The dynamic and experienced Manager of Communications will lead and drive the development and execution of strategic communication initiatives within Campus Services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate communications, with a proven track record of successful campaigns. This role requires exceptional leadership and diplomacy skills, the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and a passion for storytelling and brand advocacy.

- Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Five to seven years of managing and providing communications to a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in managing people through significant and complex change.
Preferred Qualifications
- Dynamic and outgoing personality.
- Facile at highly effective communication, across a variety of written and edited print and digital materials.
- Must be able to multi-task, meet deadlines, and problem solve.
- A high level of comfort with a fast-paced, intense, and complex environment where priorities can change rapidly.
- Highly developed degree of confidentiality, tact, judgment, and initiative.
- Commitment to diversity and to serving the needs of a diverse population.
- Experience with a broad range of professions, including union, facilities and maintenance, and administrative workers.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to gather and interpret data to drive decision-making.

Description
Divisional Communication
- Develop and maintain a division-wide communication plan that outlines the type, timing, and delivery method of communications which align with the division's goals and objectives.
- Oversee all aspects of internal communications, including content creation and coordinating with key stakeholders.
- Deliver compelling communication to all levels of the division using a variety of tools (website, email, written, monitor slides, and verbal).
- Create a Campus Services “brand” and educate stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment.
- Proactively manage a portion of the Campus Services website, keeping information and images fresh and relevant. Assure appropriate links to/from other Dartmouth sites. Utilize web tools and metrics to ensure information is found in the most efficient manner.
- Effectively build relationships and communicate with internal constituents to proactively seek news, articles, celebrations, and announcements.
- Work collaboratively to identify internal stakeholders; to develop clear, concise, and timely content; and to network and promote the division's message.
- Maintain and ensure timely execution and distribution of the Campus Services bi-weekly newsletter.
- Develop a crisis communications protocol and strategies to effectively manage and mitigate potential risks.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and trends in communications, incorporating innovative strategies and best practices into our communication efforts.

- Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness through actions, interactions, and communications with others.
- Participate in division wide CEB initiatives and training, including promotion of the 7 Principles (Empathy, Fairness, Dependability, Inclusivity, Consideration, Vulnerability and Respect).
- Collaborate, when appropriate, on other DEI-related initiatives within the division and College.
- Contribute to Culture and Employee Belonging initiatives, to assist with clear and inclusive messaging and develop campaigns to encourage employee engagement in CEB efforts.
- The Communications Manager should use their platform to amplify the voices of underrepresented groups within the organization. This may involve featuring employee stories, highlighting diverse perspectives in communications materials, and ensuring that diverse voices are represented.
