WELCOME CENTER SPECIALIST
Salary: $13.00 Hourly
Location: Quad Cities Campus, Moline, IL
The Welcome Center Specialist provides general receptionist and customer service duties including greeting and referring individuals, operating the telephone switchboard, and maintaining the operations of the Welcome Center area.
Description of Duties
DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Greets and refers individuals to appropriate staff or College services.
- Provides information and telephone switchboard service for the Quad-Cities Campus utilizing the software / system located at the primary Welcome Desk on campus.
- Provides accurate general college information to individuals upon request.
- Works collaboratively with Campus Public Safety to take photos of students for the distribution of student identification cards.
- Coordinates schedule of student workers to ensure coverage of Welcome Center and phone lines during regular campus hours.
- Provides switchboard training to Welcome Center staff.
- Communicates new or updated information to co-workers.
- Creates and maintains job aids specific to Welcome Center functions.
- Provides word processing and other clerical duties as needed.
- Performs opening and/or closing procedures.
DESCRIPTION OF OTHER DUTIES:
- Maintains inventory of materials/supplies for Welcome Center.
- Responsible for neat and clean work area.
- Performs opening and/or closing procedures.
- Performs general clerical duties and assists with various projects as assigned.
- Maintains confidentiality of information collected and distributed.
- Works with Campus Police regarding lost and found items.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Education & Experience
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

- High school diploma or recognized equivalent required. Associate's degree preferred.
- Previous experience providing face-to-facer and telephone customer service preferred.
- Good verbal communication skills required.
- Computer experience including Microsoft Office (i.e. Word) required.
- Experience working with diverse populations preferred.
