Job Description:
Budget Title: Senior Staff Assistant (SL-3)
Salary: $42,064 - $50,000 (10-month; College-year)
The Music Department Administrative Assistant to the chair is the senior staff member in the Department Office.
Duties include:
- Supervising four other staff (1 full-time and 2 part-time office staff; 1 part-time piano technician)
- Assisting the chair with curricular planning, accreditation reporting, and department administration
- Making and recording financial transactions in State and Foundation accounts
- Tracking department budgets
- Processing hiring paperwork for full-time faculty, adjunct faculty, and staff
- Processing payments for extra service by faculty, fees and honoraria for guest artists, etc.
- Preparing and tracking academic and office equipment purchases
- With the chair, coordinating department searches, personnel cases, and staff performance programs
- Supervising staff in managing travel for faculty and guests, concert production, and responding to inquiries from faculty, students, administration, and visitors
- Representing the Music Department at professional staff meetings and other university events
Requirements:
Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
- Bachelor's degree; earned by August 15, 2023
- Experience working in a complex office environment
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Office software
- Experience working with finances and budgets
- Administrative experience in higher education
- Administrative experience in the arts
