Job Overview

The Community Activities Manager is to manage and coordinate all aspects of the credit union's community involvement partnerships at the corporate, regional, and branch levels. Coordinates ABNB Community Foundation activities, events, and handles grant application requests. Oversees compliance and brand standards within all retail locations across field of membership footprint.

Major Responsibilities

  • Act as the official ABNB corporate liaison for major/regional/local community and corporate sponsorships. Consistently look for added value within existing partnerships and implement activation plan details from start to post events debrief.
  • Promote ABNB’s value proposition and commitment to the community via all branches and the unique communities they serve through outreach events, community meetings, nonprofit organization activities, and marketing opportunities. Actively participate on-site at events and provide strategy, planning, and instructions to branch management/staff in achieving community involvement goals.
  • Assume key liaison responsibilities and assist in the management of the ABNB Community Foundation’s activities, events, and grant requests. Review formal grant applications, manage sponsorship budget, and coordinate community check presentations, where applicable. Serves as main point of contact for ABNB Community Foundation annual fundraising event planning and execution including but not limited to the annual golf tournament.
  • Maintain credit union’s brand standards in relation to all community efforts, advertisements, functions, events, etc. Includes routine branch compliance audits/updates, promotional campaigns, and other miscellaneous branding.
  • Manage real-time inventory and reorders of branded specialty items and related materials. Ensure proper branding as well as look and feel of all event materials and supplies. Keep up to date on community involvement trends and best practices. Monitor competitor landscape.
  • Provide regular reporting and tracking of results of community involvement activities. Collect volunteer feedback and track event leads.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • (1) A bachelor's degree, or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree (e.g. information technology certifications in lieu of a degree). Degree in Marketing, Management, Communications, or other related disciplines is preferred.
  • Three years to five years of similar or related experience. Event management experience required.
  • Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
  • Analytical abilities to include problem solving, critical thinking, and decision making. Time management and organizational skills are required. Communication skills to include written and oral. Must be able to operate a PC and related office equipment and software to include Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, SharePoint, Excel, and Word. Must have a valid drivers license and the ability to commute between various branches/locations to include work related events.
  • Physical qualifications include sitting and standing for extended periods of time either at a work station or at an event, and being able to lift/carry up to 15 pounds.
  • Office and Remote - Will be required to work evenings and weekends to support community involvement efforts.
